Are you a skilled writer with a good feel for language and a knack for creating compelling narratives? Do you have a strong track record in writing proposals for public sector opportunities and EU opportunities in particular? Would you like to be part of our team and help to grow Accenture BeLux’s Health and Public Service (H&PS) practice?

As a Senior Proposal Writer, your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and contribute to the creation of content for proposals in the areas of consulting and IT for public sector clients like the European Union and Belgian governmental institutions/agencies;
  • Analyse tender specifications content, devise convincing storylines and implement them in accordance with defined deadlines;
  • Coordinate proposal storylines and content creation with fellow proposal writers as well as subject-matter experts, opportunity leads and senior management;
  • Supervise and review the work of junior colleagues and coach them to become more effective proposal writers;
  • Help to optimise proposal writing procedures, facilitate the implementation of best practices and work proactively to identify and roll out adaptations.

Accenture BeLux’s Health and Public Service (H&PS) practice helps public sector organisations such as EU and Belgian governmental institutions to embrace innovation and transform fast, enabling them to operate smarter, achieve more and deliver improved services for citizens. H&Ps is a welcoming community which performs both sales and delivery-related tasks for our business and our clients.

As a Senior Proposal Writer, you will be responsible for teams of writers on the bids you are engaged on. You will drive and coordinate content creation for proposals, oversee the work of your junior colleagues and help to optimise our proposal writing procedures.

You will be working closely with your colleagues from the H&PS community (especially our Sales Enablement Team) as well as fellow proposal writers, opportunity leads, senior management and subject-matter experts from across Accenture.

Your background

  • An excellent level of English (C1-C2) is a must; an advanced level of Dutch and/or French is an asset
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Marketing, Journalism, Communication, English, Literature, Social Sciences, Political Science, Management or a related discipline
  • 5 or more years of experience in proposal writing for a consulting or information technology organisation
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; well versed in storytelling techniques
  • Ability and willingness to lead a team of proposal writers as well as previous experience of supervising, guiding and coaching junior colleagues
  • Excellent time management with the ability to create proposal content according to a consistently high standard and suited to different audiences
  • Strong prioritisation and planning skills, willingness to take initiative and the ability to work with all levels of management
  • Intellectual curiosity with an eagerness to learn and familiarise oneself with new topics as they arise
  • Ability to quickly synthesise the key points of a given topic and make them understandable to others
  • Effectiveness as a reviewer with the ability to give succinct, actionable and respectful feedback
  • Reliability, flexibility and adaptability
  • Experienced user of MS Office applications (e.g. Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Good understanding of European Union public sector landscape, namely the EU institutions, agencies and other bodies
  • Knowledge of the Belgian public sector landscape is an asset
  • Familiarity with information technology, including current and future trends, is a strong asset
